Brief History

F.J.Wiseman & Co Ltd has been serving the public and trade since 1946, it was founded by Frank Joseph Wiseman. However the roots of our family gunsmithing history stems back to Frank's father Joseph Wiseman, so we'd approximate over 100 years. Joseph undertook an apprenticeship at W.W.Greener as stocker and would eventually pass his skills on to his son. Frank soon established himself in the trade as a highly regarded stocker and had one the most affluent and thriving businesses in the Birmingham gun-quarter with a company profile incorporating the following names:

Frank introduced his three sons to the business and in the mid eighties moved the business from the Birmingham gun quarter to Cannock, Staffordshire. At present the business is operating in it's fourth generation, with John teaching his son Philip the trade much like his forefathers.
